Tomorrow is the Dunwich Dynamo, an annual overnight bike ride from London Fields (just around the corner from where I live), to Dunwich (120 miles away on the suffolk coast).
I just want to wish all those doing this ride good luck, hope the weather and your legs hold out for the ride and to send a big shout out to Karl, Tall Friend, and Karl’s doctor friend who are all taking part.
I’ll come and pick you up from the beach on Sunday morning where you’ll all be collapsed in a heap

You are a good friend to do that. I caught the train home together with an adorable baby a few seats down that screamed seemingly every time I dozed off. The only upside of catching the train was nobody wanted to sit next to us so we got a four-seater to stretch out in. After seven hours of hard cycling we must have ponged pretty bad.

I think when I agreed, I hadn’t actually realised that it was a 2 1/2 hour drive each way.
Seeing 6am especially on a Sunday is not my idea of fun, but the cafe did a great veggie breakfast, and the beach was surprisingly tranquil.
All three riders were very thankfull (tall friend even let me drive his car - a tank in comparison to mine - and bought ne breakfast).
And after three punctures and only two spare inner tubes, doctor friend was very relieved to see the welcoming party waiting for him to relieve him of his bike and take him to a chair where his breakfast was already waiting.
Sorry we didn’t all get to meet you to say hello. I struggled even to find Karl at first in the sleeping mass of bodies. I thought that finding someone in a bright yellow jacket would be so easy, but oh yes, you were all wearing yellow jackets.
An extra 20odd miles to the train station! Thats hardcore. My three would have been hard pushed to even do another 50 yards!

Actually, we were all thinking that as it was such a nice day, we might ride back. But seeing as you’d got out of bed so early, we didn’t want you to feel that you’d had a wasted journey.
Thank you so much for rescuing us from Suffolk!
